Accessibility Statement
1. Our Commitment
EventLingo, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
We believe that every person should be able to discover events, purchase tickets, organize gatherings, and participate in the EventLingo community, regardless of ability. Accessibility is not an afterthought at EventLingo — it is a core part of our platform design and development process.
2. Conformance Standards
EventLingo aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and represent the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance means that our platform strives to:
- Perceivable: Information and user interface components are presented in ways that users can perceive, including text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, and sufficient color contrast.
- Operable: User interface components and navigation are operable by all users, including keyboard accessibility, sufficient time for interactions, and seizure-safe design.
- Understandable: Information and operation of the user interface are understandable, with readable text, predictable navigation, and input assistance.
- Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
3. Accessibility Measures
EventLingo takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our platform:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission and development process;
- Integrate accessibility into our design system and component library;
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA attributes throughout the platform;
- Ensure full keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements;
- Maintain a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text;
- Provide visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation;
- Support screen readers and other assistive technologies;
- Conduct regular accessibility audits using both automated tools and manual testing;
- Provide accessibility training for our development and design teams;
- Include people with disabilities in our user testing processes.
4. Known Limitations
While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, we acknowledge the following known limitations, which we are actively working to address:
- Interactive maps: Our event location maps may have limited accessibility for screen reader users. We provide text-based address information as an alternative for all events.
- User-generated content: Event descriptions, images, and other content uploaded by event organizers may not always include proper alt text or meet accessibility standards. We encourage organizers to create accessible content and provide guidelines for doing so.
- PDF documents: Some downloadable documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to ensure all generated documents (tickets, receipts) meet accessibility standards.
- Real-time features: Some real-time features such as live check-in dashboards may have limited screen reader compatibility. We are working to improve live region announcements for these features.
Remediation timeline: We are committed to resolving all known accessibility issues. Our engineering team reviews and prioritizes accessibility improvements on a quarterly basis. Critical accessibility barriers are addressed within 30 days of identification.
5. Requesting Accommodations
If you need assistance or an accommodation to use any part of the EventLingo platform, we are here to help. You may request accommodations in any of the following ways:
- Email us at accessibility@eventlingo.com with a description of the accessibility barrier you have encountered and the accommodation you need;
- Use the accessibility feedback form available in the app settings;
- Contact our support team, who can assist you with any platform feature over the phone or via alternative means.
We aim to respond to all accommodation requests within 2 business days and to provide a resolution or interim solution within 5 business days.
6. Third-Party Content
EventLingo integrates with third-party services including payment processors, mapping providers, and photo services. While we select third-party partners that share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of content or features provided by external services. Where third-party accessibility limitations exist, we endeavor to provide accessible alternatives within our own platform.
Event organizers are responsible for the accessibility of their own event content. EventLingo provides guidelines and encourages organizers to use descriptive alt text for images, provide accessible event descriptions, and ensure their events are inclusive.
7. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of EventLingo. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, have a suggestion for improvement, or want to report a positive experience, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve our platform for all users.
When reporting an accessibility issue, please include the following information to help us investigate and resolve the issue quickly:
- A description of the accessibility barrier you encountered;
- The URL or screen where the issue occurred;
- The browser and operating system you were using;
- Any assistive technology you were using (e.g., screen reader name and version);
- What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
