EventLingo, Inc. (“EventLingo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and other applicable privacy laws.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and profile photo (if provided). If you register as an event host, we also collect business information necessary for payment processing through Stripe Connect.
2.2 Transaction Data
When you purchase tickets or receive payouts, we collect transaction details including amounts paid, payment method metadata (we do not store full credit card numbers), order history, refund records, and payout history. Financial transaction data is processed and stored by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc.
2.3 Device and Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you access our Services, including your IP address, device type and model, operating system and version, browser type, app version, referring URLs, pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and general geographic location (city-level, derived from IP address).
2.4 Optional Demographic Data
You may voluntarily provide demographic information such as age range, gender identity, and interests. This data is entirely optional and may be removed from your profile at any time. Please see Section 4 for important details on how we handle demographic data.
2.5 Event and Social Data
We collect information about events you create, attend, or interact with; your follow relationships with other users; check-in records; and survey responses submitted after events.
2.6 Communications
We retain records of communications sent through our platform, including support requests, in-app messages, and notification preferences.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Services;
- Process transactions and send related notifications;
- Send promotional communications (with your consent, and you may opt out at any time);
- Personalize your experience, including event recommendations;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
- Conduct analytics and research to improve our platform;
- Facilitate revenue share calculations and payout processing;
- Administer post-event surveys and survey credit redemption;
- Track referral and influencer commission attribution.
4. Demographic Data — Special Notice
EventLingo takes the handling of demographic data very seriously. If you choose to provide optional demographic information, the following protections apply:
- Used solely for recommendations: Demographic data is used only to personalize event recommendations and improve your experience on the platform.
- Never sold: We do not sell your demographic data to any third party, under any circumstances.
- Never shared with event organizers: Event hosts and organizers do not have access to your individual demographic information. Hosts receive only aggregated, anonymized analytics about their event attendees.
- Removable at any time: You may delete your demographic data from your profile settings at any time, and it will be permanently removed within 30 days.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share your personal information only in the following circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers
We share data with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, subject to contractual obligations to protect your data:

5.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request; when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others; or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
5.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
5.4 With Your Consent
We may share your information for purposes not described in this Privacy Policy when we have your explicit consent to do so.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
6.1 Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which that information was collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we shared it.
6.2 Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (such as retaining financial records as required by law).
6.3 Right to Correct
You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
6.4 Right to Opt-Out of Sale
EventLingo does not sell your personal information. We do not, and will not, sell personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. Because we do not sell personal information, there is no need to opt out of the sale of personal information.
6.5 Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. You will not receive different pricing, a different quality of service, or be denied service for exercising your rights.
6.6 How to Exercise Your Rights
To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, please contact us at privacy@eventlingo.com. We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within 45 days, as required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information as follows:
- Financial records: Retained for 7 years from the date of the transaction, as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
- Account data: Retained until you request deletion of your account. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 45 days, except for data we are legally required to retain.
- Usage and device data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes, after which it is aggregated and anonymized.
- Survey responses: Retained in anonymized form for platform improvement. Identifiable responses are deleted 90 days after submission.
8. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest;
- Row-level security (RLS) policies on all database tables;
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments;
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis;
- Secure authentication mechanisms including phone OTP verification;
- TOTP-based two-factor authentication for administrative access;
- Automated monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access attempts.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to promptly delete such information. If you believe that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@eventlingo.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the “Last Updated” date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of our Services after the revised policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
